I have enjoyed working as both an illustrator and lecturer for over 20 years, more recently as a location painter. As an illustrator I am mesmerised by the medium’s ability to connect and communicate beyond the limits of words.
I am drawn to the spark between word and image, and the imaginary space that can be created between them. I am constantly inspired how illustration in storytelling aims to convey truths about the world we live in.

As a location painter my goal is to capture a sense of place using oil on card, recording local colour, light and atmosphere. There is no time for preliminary drawing as studies are usually compete within an hour - as shadows and light change so rapidly.
